I have created a profile at NaNoWriMo

And am seriously questining my sanity to even attempt doing a novel in a month. 50,000 words is more than I've done in the last 5 years, probably even if you count blogs.

congratulations! you're much braver than i. i just know my life would fall apart if i signed up for that thing. with my luck i'd get a big contract the first day of the month. hmmmm. maybe i should sign up! :)

srsly tho i don't have a story that big in the hopper at the moment to start so would be a waste anyway. too bad i'm not just starting Shinrai.... I'm at about 100K words now and it's about 3/4 done. *slogs*

gah. all i have to say is thank god i'm not actually writing a novel. this little thing is so easy by comparison.... *slogs some more*

actually i was at that point about 60% the way through and had a breakthrough. it wasn't magic or anything, i just needed to spend time (on vacation) immersed in it so i could actually become obsessed enough to figure out how to approach one of the big scenes, sit down and write it so all the little "i never thought of that ah-ha's! popped out. now i have enough to work with the next few chapters are pretty easy (by coparison). i am dreading the end though! when all the pieces have to come together perfectly and then i have to go back through the whole damn thing and fix all the foreshadowing and character development so that the end makes sense... grrrrrrr

but it will be fun! writing is fun!

write?
