ranuel: (Bad move)

A bit over a year ago wheat became a big time migraine trigger for me.  Even small amounts of wheat products in food can give me a low grade headache so I've become careful about what I eat and I read the ingredient listings before I buy prepared food. Mostly. I mean, some foods are obviously safe aren't they? Why bother reading the ingredients on a bag of Ore-Ida Crispy Crowns when it's just going to say potatoes, grease of some kind, and preservatives?

Except that for some reason Ore-Ida decided to add wheat flour to their little cholesterol clusters even though other, non-name brand knock-off versions don't have any. And Ore-Ida was on sale last week so why not buy the name brand?

I've had them with my morning eggs 3 or 4 times and didn't figure out until today WHY I've had this nagging headache that goes away for a day or so and then comes right back with little knives behind my eye.

I'm NOT happy with Ore-Ida right now.

*nods* My son has wheat, dairy and potato allergies, so finding fun foods that he can eat has been a real trial. Frozen yam fries haven't really caught on around here...

I love fried sweet potatoes but most of the time in restaurants around here they are batter dipped. Easy enough to make at home.

The potato allergy along with wheat is a shame. So many wheat free products substitute potato flour that it would really make life difficult.
