The fire is 65% contained and has still not got any homes. The firefighters are doing heroic work. A festival in their honor is planned in a couple of weeks. Let's hope they are free to attend.

We've started getting little bits of rain. Not enough by a long shot but any increase in humidity is a good thing. One of the local stations has been playing every song they can think of that mentions rain all day long. Coincidence? Hee!

In other news, Ginger DeMaio, one of the nicer cats I've ever known, died of liver failure at the age of 16. . My cousin Mike had had her ever since she was a kitten. She was a dainty little thing who could be cute as a kitten whenever she wanted to. She learned to turn on the reading light Mike had on his headboard and woke him up from time to time when she decided she needed a bit of warmth in the middle of the night. I'm going to miss her.

The air quality is still better than it was over the weekend but everyone is sniffling and coughing. I took a couple of Benadryl last night to clear up some of my stuffiness and had the weirdest dream.

First I was there to see a friend (no idea who) perform but her (I think, could have been a guy) backup singers and dancers didn't show up so I went on with someone else in their place. I was really enjoying myself and I loved the beautiful outfits we had on. We were sort of belly dancing with some other moves thrown in. Then instead of being on stage we were at some beer joint with the tables cleared away for us to practice and the place was empty except for us, the bartender, and my uncle who has been dead several years now. He was standing at the bar drinking a beer and watching us.

Then I woke up.

You know, nothing would have made him happier than to find out that heaven has beer joints. Having belly dancers would have just been icing on the cake.

Maybe that was the message for you. Heaven does have beer joints. But only has belly dancers when nieces show up in weird dreams. (c;

I had a weird dream last night. I dreamed that I was in a multiple 3 way marriage--me, Keith and some other guy. It was a Very Nice Dream.
