If you are interested in symbolism in illustration, Oscar Wilde, the history of the gay rights movement, comic book adaptations of classics, Wilde inspired works (such as V for Vendetta), or Victorian artists (like Beardsley), then you will find this excellent essay by Kristian Willams worth your time even though it has nine heavily illustrated chapters.

You'll need to scroll down to part 1 of course. There are links from one chapter to another at the bottom of the chapters but the one between chapter 7 and 8 is dead so you'll have to come back out to this index to get there.
