It was pretty tough a couple of years ago when I first had to go wheat free but it's getting better by leaps and bounds. The grocery story next door to where I work has a small special section devoted to wheat free and gluten free products in it's health food/organic section. I can get fig newtons, ginger cookies animal crackers, barley flour, and a couple of different pastas there.
At Mother Earth the prices are a lot higher but they've added a special section too in the last year and every time I go there to get something I can't get elsewhere they've added something new.
It can't hurt to ask the manager of the store you shop at if they could add something. I got the barley flour added at my grocery store that way.
